Lets try this again!

So, Long time no speak!

Now I know that there has been a super super long break but I can now say that I have some direction in my life, and subsequently in where I want to take this blog, 2018 is the year my life is taking a huge huge turn, This year I'm getting married, I'm starting on my fitness and weight loss journeys and I'm (hopefully!) returning to education to start focusing on working towards a career.

So, where exactly do I want to take this blog?

I will be posting weekly weight-loss related posts including what I eat in a week on Slimming world as well as posting things do to with my fitness (I am in no way a professional, just a chubby girl trying to slim down so please take what I post as whats best for me!)

I'm also thinking of blogging about my upcoming wedding and how we are doing with planning/buying/preparing for the big day!

so it's a very little blog post to say that I am coming back, I am more motivated than I have been ever to be a more productive human being who is better at being a human than I have been!

My hair journey and disasters!

Hello beautiful humans!

I thought that today I would go for a trip down memory lane at my hairstyles from the past 7 years, the good and the bad and the downright ugly and thought I would take you guys with me! I am a huge hair dying maniac and since I first died my hair I have been obsessed with it and almost as soon as my hair is one colour i'm planning the next colour, so lets start way back when in 2009, my emo phase.

So this was the first time i properly dyed my hair and i will admit at the time i thought it look amazing, back in my days of dreaming of being an MCR roadie and following them around until the day i died, but looking back on it, black hair just didn't suit me at that time, plus i was still in school and they wasn't best thrilled that the girl who was naturally blonde suddenly had cosmic blue hair, so alas this one was short lived and they told me to bleach my hair to get back to my normal colour. however that went very VERY wrong. exhibit A

This was the result of a £2.99 bleach from home bargains, it destroyed my hair and left me with orange, yellow and white hair, i HATED it and I still cringe thinking i ever left my house looking like that! the ends of my hair were brittle and dry and my hair was just in an awful state, so one trip to the hair dressers to fix my birds nest on my head resulted in the first bob hair cut i had in years, it saved my hair but i cant stand my hair short, and for me this was VERY short.

I honestly can't stand my hair short, i feel like i makes my face a hell of alot bigger and i just don't like it (also ignore the pose, this was when i was still horrific at taking selfies. D;) so i begged and pleaded with my mum to buy me hair extensions, i'd never had hair extensions before so i was super excited, finally i could have hair the length i wanted it too, little did i know hair extensions werent just 'get one pack and your hair worries will be gone' i have VERY thick hair so i usually have to buy two packs of hair extensions or double thickness hair extensions just so they don't look like these ones did.

Ahh the era of when Leanne edited her photos WAY too much.FYI my laptop was stacked on top of ALOT of DVDs and books to achieve this very unflattering angle, i didnt have nearly enough hair extensions for them to look remotely real, i also didn't straighten my hair so you could (if not already) see where my hair ended and where the extensions began! -75/10 Leanne. should try harder!

These photos were all from 2010, The final year I was at school and i couldn't wait to get out of school, i spent all my time online looking through photos of scene queens like audrey kitching praying for the day i could have hair as cool as theirs (that still hasn't happened FYI.) the year later I moved out and this is where the crazy hair colours began

RED. fire truck red. i have to admit at the time i thought i was the coolest person ever, however looking back i just looked like a bit of an idiot, but it welcomed me to the world of bright hair, however i had a change of heart and missed having 'normal hair' this is still something i do regularly, so i decided to put a normal colour back on.

This was probably the last time until now i had normal hair, i have to be honest every colour from then until now i have loved! i will post a selection of the MANY i have had in the past 3 years! i honestly can't say i've 'hated' or even mildly disliked any of them!

So that brings me up until now on my VERY long VERY forever changing hair journey, i now have settled on Black hair and i wear hair extensions because I just love having longer hair. Hope you've enjoyed taking a very long travel down memory lane with me!

Until next time beautiful humans!

where i've been and what i've been doing!

Hello beautiful humans!

Sorry for the late blog post and the unexplained silence i've had a few weeks away and I thought I'd explain what i've been up to in this post!

So where exactly HAVE I been and what have I been doing? I went to Lincoln at the beginning of september to go and see Family and catch up with a Friend and then after I went to see my girlfriend for a few weeks, with it being a long distance relationship I wanted to spend as much time with her as I could hence the quietness on the blog!

When I was in Lincoln i visited a really yummy Gelato place called Go Gelato, it was super cute and super yummy! For those of you who know Lincoln you can find Go Gelato on The Strait (just up from the top end of the high street!) I would definately suggest a visit! The shop itself is beautifully decorated and the staff are really helpful and kind and the Gelato is so yummy and they have so many flavours! I went for a large tub and had Bubblegum, Red Velvet and Nutella and they was all SO so good i will definately be visiting again! I have seen on their facebook page for winter they will be doing waffles and crepes too! They sell such a large selection of ice creams as well as freakshakes! (Unfortunately couldnt get both so i opted for the ice cream though i will definately be trying a freakshake next time!) I'd definately recommend Go Gelato for anybody who loves a sweet treat as much as i do!

Once i'd left Lincoln i headed to see my girlfriend,Scarlet for a few weeks and just spend time with her, honestly we didn't really do a lot but spending time with her makes me the happiest girl in the world, there was lots of Netflix and watching Hells Kitchen (which i LOVE! i'm a slight Gordon Ramsay fangirl :P) but it was so nice to see her and spend time with her, there was many a netflix watched and many a starbucks drank and many a meme created! I discovered the wonderful world of dessert delivery. (Honestly wales you need to catch up, i had cake and ice cream DELIVERED to me, best thing ever imo.) and omg it was so so so good! honestly i want dessert delivery to be a thing in my area! (i've just noticed this is a very foodie blog post! whoops!) When i was there aswell i also ended up dying my hair black and getting hair extensions which made me so so happy! I didn't realise how much i had missed having hair extensions! ill post a few pictures with my new hair extensions in (and one with my girlfriend :3)

After Middlesbrough on my way home i stopped by Bristol to see one of my best friends who i haven't seen in a few months and it was so so lovely to just have a catch up! we went to go and see Bridget Jones Baby and i absolutely loved it! all in all i've had a busy few weeks now but i'm back and i have a lot of blog post ideas! I will be more regular with my blog from now on ill be moving in the next few weeks so expect a blog post on that!

Have a wonderful week beautiful humans!

Lez talk stereotypes!

Hello beautiful humans!

I thought today I'd go on a little thought ramble on my life and LGBT issues which I've experienced  and how i feel about the labels and stigmas still attached to the LGBT community. I'll mainly be focusing on things I have been asked myself though if you like this then let me know and I might make a little series out of it!

I came out in summer of 2015 to my friends and family via Facebook, at the time I came out as 'Pansexual' feeling unsure entirely of my sexuality - even now I am still learning and growing and exploring my sexuality, It really isn't as black and white as the world want us to think! - however now I feel more comfortable under the label of 'Lesbian' though if that changes again then so be it! my coming out was hardly a surprise to my close friends and family and most of them simply shrugged it off! much to my dismay as I had spent years building it up and expecting this huge backlash though they all pretty much knew so it wasn't a shock to them and I know I am very VERY lucky to have such a supportive network of friends and family around me!

Since June 2015 I have taken it upon myself to learn more about the LGBT+ community as a whole and try and help educate myself and others around me and I am constantly learning new things and correcting things which society had taught me, so here are a few of the stigmas attached to the LGBT+ community and then the realities of it!

You can only be either Gay, Bi or Straight!

Whoa buddy! Slow down a second, Okay, so this is one I have heard SO many times! SO many times (seriously if i had £1 for every time i heard it i would never have to worry about money again!) The spectrum of sexuality is so so broad and while alot of people are saying how many of these sexualities have only appeared the last couple of years thanks to websites like tumblr my question is this, does it matter? does it really matter that more and more people are becoming open and willing to think about their sexualities and share them with the world? I think its great that more people are sharing information about lesser known sexualities such as Pansexuality and Demisexuality and Asexuality. Sexuality is such a spectrum (almost as if the rainbow is a broad spectrum of colours! ;) )

So, which one of you is the guy?

Something i'm sure almost everyone in a same sex couple has been asked on at least one (but probably more!) occasion and the answer is as simple as this, neither partner is! it's pretty hilarious because it defeats the entire thing of SAME-SEX relationships, we are both the same sex. just because it doesn't fix with hetero style of things. In my case both of us would be female and neither of us 'is the guy' because lez be real about this, i'm simply not into that, hence not being straight!

But you don't LOOK like gay and you certainly don't ACT like it.

Soooooooo, Stereotypes are fun! no, i don't have a tribal tattoo, I don't live my life in vests and I wear pretty dresses and skirts and make up and I don't have a 'boyish' hair cut, but guess what, anybody in the world can look however they want, I love girls, I love females, they're who I feel a connection too, there isn't a set way anybody HAS to look to be a certain sexuality. sometimes I'll look 'stereotypically' lesbian y'know what I'm talking about - Snapback on backwards, ripped jeans, plaid shirt but sometimes I love dressing incredibly feminine wearing skater dresses and nice shoes and curling my hair, neither of these looks effect how I feel romantically! funny that hey?

But how are you ever going to have kids?!

So, i would like to introduce you to the 21st century there frienderino and tell you that there are more ways than just the good old fashioned way of conceiving children, as well as that there are Many options such as Adoption and Sperm Doners or Surrogates as well as i'm sure many other ways! so yes in the future when the time comes if i want children there are many ways I could become a mum!

You're a Lesbian? so you HATE men right?

Okay this is down right ridiculous to assume that because I like girls that I HATE men, no I don't hate the male population of the world i'm just not attracted to them, in fact alot of the time I get on a hell of a lot better with guys than i do with girls! some of my closest friends through my teenage years were guys and I lived with 7 of them when i was in my late teens, did I spend my whole time with them detesting them and wishing they didn't exist? no because they was good company and SO much easier to get on with on a friendship level because it cut out the whole of the next point i'm going to make!

you MUST have a crush on me right? i mean i'm a girl and you like girls so you must fancy me!

No, no I do not. this is a bizarre ego complex most girls have that a lesbian must fancy them because they're female but here is the thing, do you fancy every single guy you meet? no? then why would it be the same for us?! the whole idea of it is completely bizarre to me and i just can't begin to comprehend the whole thing. I do not have a crush on every female I have ever laid my eyes on and i'm sorry if that hurts your ego.

I could truly ramble for hours and hours about the different ridiculous things I have been asked this was a very brief introduction to some of the ridiculous things that I've been asked since coming out and I'm sure that I will have many more stories in the years to come! I may make another similar post in the future about these!

Hope you enjoyed these rambles from my brain!

Who is Leanne?!

Well hello there friends and welcome!

So here goes my very first blog post, I wont deny the fact i'm nervous but hey ho! Im also pretty damn excited!

Firstly I thought I would share with you a few  simple facts about me!

My name is Leanne and I'm 22 years old, I live and grew up in sunny South Wales, I'm a part of the LGBT community (I'm in the L part of it! I'm sure I will do a more in depth post about this at some point!)  I am absolutely obsessed with Disney & Harry Potter (Literally I swear they are my whole life!  I adore exploring and travelling and I am hoping in the next few years to make more of an effort to go to places I've always dreamed of but haven't gone too! I'm a Singer who can't sing though I'll give it my best! I like the quirkier things in life, having bright hair colours and not fitting in with what would be considered the 'Norm'. (Always been told I'm a bit of a weirdo! :P )

I am hoping that with this blog I'll be able to share some (hopefully!) helpful things which help me get through life, share wonderful memories and adventures with you and learn more about myself and the world on the way! I am planning to write a post at least once if not twice a week! I will be writing about LGBT and Mental Health issues as well as things such as make up and beauty things and just random looks at my life!

I'm excited for this adventure and I hope that you'll come along this weird journey that I call life with me!
